How many have had a FFL in the past?

There are alot of current FFL holders on the auction side and on the forums.

How many here have previously had a FFL?

Yes, had one for 20+ years until sold the business and retired.

    close but no cigar
    many many years ago I filled out all the paper work about to send it off , then about the same time met a new friend who had his and would order anything at dealer cost great fellow with many hobbies great to deal and talk with ( I always paid him for the time ) I decided more convenient to go thru him as no paper work for me to worry about so I scrapped my plans

    A C&R License is an 03 FFL so there's a lot of us that still have one of those.

    Type 03 (C&R) since 1981.

    Type 01 (Dealer) since 1985.

    When I relocated to Florida I had to have a new FFL. The Compliance inspector, who was a cute little gal, looked over my records and was quick to point out that I was a licensed dealer before she was born! :o I'm defiantly getting old :cry:

    I was a "kitchen table" dealer in the late 1960's. The 01 FFL cost $2.00. Most distributors would not sell to me because I was not a "stocking dealer".

    I had a FFL for 28 years before being "weeded out".

    Had a C&R for 15 years. I quit buying old guns and let it lapse. Then I started buying old guns again. I am happy to give my FFL the business on the transfers.

    Used to have a C&R, I got "inspected" by the ATF (actually a couple of college kids that didn't know serial number from model number) gave me a verbal hard time about selling some of the items I collected to upgrade to newer items, I showed them the portion of the law that said I could do just that and I had every purchaser recorded in the book and full ID listed, I decided it just wasn't worth being hassled and moved on.

    Now everything I do is through a local FFL in's and out's, they charge 10% on consignment and 20 bucks to transfer in and I don't have to worry about nuttin.

    Had a FFL & a 'shop' from March '83 till 2017 :::

    Kind of miss the shop & customers : But NOT the feds & tax people & the overhead : all to TRY & make a few bucks !!!!!!!

    FFL here for long time, no brick and mortar but do lots of transfers.
    Audited couple weeks ago, no problems. ATF agent could have not been nicer.
