Old Rake ?
I picked up a metal rake today that has 18 knife like blades on the top and 18 knife like blades on the bottom.
The top and bottom are exactly the same. You have the handle and 9 blades on each side of the handle on top and bottom.
Any ideas what it is for? Im guessing for making rows for planting.

Spent many an hour Every Spring working out the grass that died off during the winter with one of those when I was a kid. They're no fun to use, think about finding a stray dog that has matted hair and trying to comb it out but you're doing that to your lawn. but they sure do a good job... we always had the greenest grass and thickest lawn in town because my parents made us kids do it every year. And because the lawn was so much thicker because we'd detached it Every Spring, it made it twice as hard to mow with a push reel type lawn mower. Yes, I was raised in an era that didn't have gas lawn mowers
And of course who could forget the handheld aerators. What it was was a handle with a steel strap at the base of it about 6 inches long with two pipes coming out on each side of it that were cut on a slant that you put on the ground and jumped on the steel strap to force the pipes into the ground. And if we didn't get the holes close enough for my dad all hell would be paid and we would have to redo it. Back then to have a nice yard it took a lot of work compared to today
Here's a link to a handheld aerator. Course in my neck of the woods even after you watered the lawn it was a lot harder to use than what this video shows. And I might be just the fact that I was only 40 or 50 lb too at the time. I would have to jump on it for five times to get it to dig down into the lawnhttps://youtu.be/H5a1gUoKXZ00 -
I think I have seen the guys that work asphalt use a rake like that. 0
