pawn shop score

was in the local pawn shop today just hanging around when a guy walks in ans ask "do ya'll buy guns" the owner said yes hs did. stayed long enough to see a ruger blackhawk in the box. left to go and buy some tomato plants and came back later. ask owner "did you buy that ruger" he said yes. ask what it was. ruger new model blackhawk in 44 spl. in the box with all paperwork including original bill of sale, 2010 date. i bought it on the spot for 320 out the door. im shickled titless. yeah me.

    what you did not make a offer to the seller while he was dealing with the store :shock:
    great deal my first center fire handgun was a ruger 44 mag black hawk .

    I was in a friend's pawn shop when a man came in wanting to sell a hunting knife. The owner didn't want the knife even after I told him it was a special knife because I knew who made it. He told me to catch the man and buy it if I wanted it. Ended up getting a Lloyd Hale custom hunting knife with a Sambar stag grip for a bargain, paying the man what he offered it to the shop for. I contacted Lloyd, who told me he made it in about 1975, and even who he made it for. I have turned down $800 for it.

    That pawnshop owner knows how to turn a profit fast, that's what it's all about, he should do good in life........you too by snatching it up !....:D

    In the initial post 'a guy walks in and ask "do ya'll buy guns"'

    Clearly the fellow was SELLING the firearm, not pawning it.

    Every state as different regs. In some states when a pawn shop purchases an item it has to be held a certain time before being offered for sale.

    In other states, once it's purchased, it can be sold immediately.

    Fools, and there are still some breathing, are the only ones to dispose of stolen merchandise at a pawn shop where they must present a government issued photo ID in addition to some states/cities that also require a photo - thumb fingerprint. Wow, talk about leaving irrefutable proof of being a thief :lol:

    In Nebraska, it does not matter if the item was pawned or sold, it has a hold on it. That's why I ask.
