Forum features I miss

With the AtE forum being limited to 10 replies, I sometimes found it expedient to reply to some question immediately with the obvious comment, "need more details" or "gotta have a photo" and then later delete that comment if it looked like it was going to hit 10 replies without resolving the issue. [now you can only delete if there are no replies after yours, of course one can still edit but it's not the same]
Made text "invisible" unless you scrolled over it or hit ctrl a

There were arrows at the end of a topic that allowed you to go straight to the next or previous topic. If there is still a way to do this, I'm not seeing it.

    I watched Kev shut down a thread over at ATE by posting 5X because he didn't like the fact that someone would disagree with him.

    You're seeing a different screen than I am. I can see the OP listed near the thread title.

    Nope, not on my 'puter screen????

    When scrowing down the list of threads in GD, I only see the title, date and time, last poster on the thread. The OP is only on the first post, IIRC, the OP was listed on everyone's post, then the next posters name.

    I could wrong?????

    I want a discount on my membership fees!!! :mrgreen:

    And your arrow is next to my name on the right side of screen to bring you to last post.

    I agree 100%. Who cares who the last poster was, I want to know when some crybaby started another thread that belongs on face book not here.

    Number of reasons reads is one

    Post counts and stars and colors of each poster is one

    Some accounts no longer being locked is one - or the legion of the damned being allowed to start over with a new identity

    I miss the former emoji layout in stacked columns rather than a single continuous row

    I regret that some members have been unable or unwilling to come back

    Non of this is in any way meant to be critical of the forum or admins and mods - just speculative thinking - I could not do a better job

    I think it might be time to eliminate member accounts with post counts under 20 whom are and have been inactive and never made a contribution but only complained - but I would not hazard a guess how to do that without causing other problems - but such a removal of dead weight or a purge might be worth consideration

    It's minor grist for the mill.

    Surely we can have better icons than those provide, many appear to be the same like the cats, shocked, we've even got 2 "geeks" (who has ever used either ??). Yes I like my icons.....and a decent selection to choose from, the old forums icons sucked as well. :lol:
