Bought a gun today.

Around 1984 I bought a Colt Frontier Scout 22 SA revolver. It was not fancy or super high quality but it was cute. I never even had a chance to shoot it before it was stolen along with all my other guns in a 1985 burglary. About a year ago I got a notion to replace it. I checked the auctions and looked around at the local shows and I saw total junkers at $250 or nice ones in the $450-$500 (or more) range. I didn't want to pay that much. I kept looking.

At a local show today I didn't get more than 20 feet in the door when I saw a Scout on a table. It looked really clean. Mostly seemed to only show handling and storage marks. Not sure it's ever been fired. Tagged at $350. I opened my mouth to offer $300 but before I could get the first word out the seller said "I'll take $275 for it."

It's cute.

    PS: I think a previous owner added the wood stocks. They fit well and look OK but I may keep my eye out for the hard rubber grips with the Mexican eagle on them.

    In the past I owned 3 scouts. One being a nickel high polish in a fitted wooden case. Commemorative of some nature but I forget of what. The other two I shot loose with side play of the cylinders. (center pin elongated the hole in the recoil shield) I recall not being all that happy with the play at the round counts I put through them.
    My purchase after those was the Peacemaker with fixed sights and case hardened steel frame. It gave much better service .

    Your buy price was a very good deal in todays market. I hope your experience was better than mine.
