Shooting Update -
A few might remember a post by edsp*** titled "Accident."
It involved an accidental shooting of a 2 year old girl, playing in her own back yard. (About 10 miles from my house.) I/We (from around here,) have been following this extremely closely.
The girl was hit in the back of the head, by a "ricochet," off her swingset.
No one came forward. (Worthless Coward.)
The last word I had on the little girl (last week,) was that she was improving. Intra-cranial pressure coming down, had moved her head some. (Was still, last I heard, in an induced coma.)
Latest word, was that the Sheriffs Department had been interviewing all the closest neighbors. From what I've been told, (and this is unconfirmed.) A young boy admitted that his Dad had been shooting in the back yard. Had shot a metal pole, and it had ricocheted off. Father in custody. Unknown what charges are.
I hope they Hammer his Ass. He knew he had been shooting, had shot a metal pole - and that it had ricocheted. No way he could not know (in the next day or so,) what had happened.
Why not come forward, admit you had been shooting (close by) and "Hey, I don't know for sure, but yes I was shooting and here is what happened."
I hope they nail his Ass to the wall. Freaking Coward. I mentioned to another co-worker today, "If I was tgat girls Father, it would be almost impossible for me NOT to beat the ever loving piss out of the guy. Not only being Stupid enough to cause this, but trying to hide as well.
(Again) This information, is all unconfirmed. There has been almost Zero information released here locally, about what is happening.

Thanks for the update.
Info is scarce for sure.0 -
I would pretty much guarantee that this POS gets his Ass handed to him in Jail, locally.
Enjoy your time in incarceration.

So sad. Prayers for that baby. 0 -
There used to be a popular clip on the web of some tool shooting a .45 in a dump - firing at the discarded axle and wheel assembly from a tractor trailer - and one round comes straight back and hits him from a good 25 yds away...
We were brutally taught about knowing not only what you were shooting at but what was behind it that you could not see - that a .22 lr could travel a mile
And that ricochets can kill the shooter or a neighbor...
I can guarantee the kid new what he was doing was wrong and shot the metal pole on purpose not with ill intent but out of youthful stupidity...
And the parent or guardian is responsible for what he did and any damage caused.

Kinda like shooting into the water? 0 -
You have NO IDEA, what my shooting area looks like. Backstop, high banks, shooting from 4 stories above the pond. etc.
To pretend that you do, and cast judgment is simply ludicrous.
I shoot safely. Always have. Always will.
Kind of like you think you know my dog, because he is a Pit. You simply show your ignorance.

First, I never referred to your dog, I only discussed the breed in general, Secondly, I only mentioned shooting into water, I never referred to your specific shooting arrangement. But if the shoe fits, wear it. 0 -
Accidents happen without thinking.......... lying about it had some thought involved, now that's completely wrong...and unforgivable in my opinion. Prayers for the 2 yr. old to fully recover. 0 -

As I read the OP, the young boy told on his Dad which was doing the shooting...not the young boy.0 -

Was hoping you would reply back, instead of disappearing, like when your "Most Dangerous Dog Breeds," thread - statistics went against your biased agenda. How curious.
Posting your "Shooting in to Water," comment resonated. Looks like you have been taking notes. (Not the first time you have commented on my shooting arrangement.)
As stated previously, YOU DO NOT HAVE A CLUE, about my specifics and topography surrounding my shooting arrangement. To post otherwise (again,) shows your ignorance.
"If the shoe fits." Fits perfectly.

You have "specifically," discussed my dog in the past. You have also "specifically" commented about me "Shooting in to Water," in the past.
No?
Where did you go?
You know what you were discussing, and referring to. Don't you?
Sigh,....................................................................................................................................disappeared again.0 -
My mistake - arrest the father and document everything so he can be held responsible at least in civil court...
Best to correct myself before threadjack becomes threadlock.
