Ripped Off?
Hit KFC on the way home. Got a $20 Family Fill up. Chicken Tenders, Mashed Potates, gravy, cole slaw, bisquits, (butter and honey.)
Once home, I realized they had changed their packaging, from the normal pint size styrofoam on their sides, to shallow plastic trays of each. My first thought was WTF? That looks like less to me. Wish I could have weighed a before and after.
I would not be surprised to find out, portion size just took a hit, while prices remained the same.

HMMM, I would be a little upset. I got one like 3 days ago and still had the regular size Styrofoam. Maybe? out of the others? If not then yea, that's not worth it. 0 -
I won't eat at KFC........PERIOD!
The local restaurant has such a greasy floor, one must take care or will fall down.
The food on the buffet NEVER has any white meat chicken ~ have to ask for some and wait, and wait, and wait.
The potatoes, gravy, etc. look like they were left over from the week before.
Nope, nothing there for me even at the driveup.0 -

Uhhhh,..................................Thanks?
(And) What Buffet? WTH are you talking about? Where are you eating? KFC does not have a buffet, as far as I've ever seen/heard.
Maybe you should post to Great Guns Lamb post.
I've heard he is looking to hear from people who hate lamb.

KFC has had buffets around here for years, they were good early on but no more

I have not been in a KFC WITHOUT a buffet for years.. The local one is so nasty the KFC corporate office has shut it down twice to make them clean it 0 -
Sorry.
Never seen or heard of one.
How about that Lamb?

Please brother. They did you a favor. Get your food somewhere healthy KFC is not good for you. If they cut back on portions that would be a healthy choise. 0 -
They can say what ever they want, (and I plan on asking next time I am there) there is no way those sides are same quantity as before.
Not too cool, it was not stated/advertised.
Value went down. Reason to go there went down.0 -
The way I see it the less of that crap they sell you the better. They did you a favor. 0 -
Loves me someKFC yard bird,,
never heard of one with a buffet,,maybe I should move0 -

Somehow I believe if Sonic reduced the size of their Breakfast burrito, we would not be hearing the same tune from you.

I have been in a KFC twice...back when I was a cop there was a break in at the local KFC about three in the morning. While waiting for the manager, I walked through the place and found piles of raw chicken sitting on the tiled cooler floor.
The second time was for a commotion..a local high school kid who worked there got mad at his boss so he battered and deep fried his Chuck Taylor sneakers and hung them over the cash register where all the folks coming in could see them. The boss came in and wanted the kid arrested...
The sneakers were fried to a perfect golden brown...they looked delicious..

Just think how many tacos you could have had for that $20. 0 -

The quality of KFC varies greatly with ownership and managers as do a lot of fast food restaurants. We have one close to our house that's terrible but the one that 17 miles away is always good and the place is clean.
The buffets at some of the KFC's began in the early 2000's.0 -
Ripped off??? You are an ardent supporter of taco bell - who's beef products by law contain 22% actual beef (mostly pink slime and sphincters and foreskins)
They actually got sued for calling their meat beef when it had less then the 22% benchmark
I imagine you love spam and spotted dick and neco wafers and marshmallow peeps and pork rinds and 7-11 rottiserie hot dogs and flan and monkfish and Twinkies and skittles...
When you walk in you have been ripped off.
Did you eat Jack in the box in the late 70's...
Chipped beef mres???
Mr. Pib or diet tab or Dr. Pepper prune cola...
At least with Chinese food you get nice lean kitty cat in your diet.

Love all the comments on the "healthy" food choices. NO KFC ect ect. as you munch on turnips, lettuce, and carrots. Everyone but Ken and me must have 32" inseam and 34" length --I eat more possum but got to have some good, greasy chicken once in a while, 0 -

LOL we burned 2 to the ground in >20 minutes. Only bricks and melted metal left.
Easy to do when EVERYTHING in the buildings were grease coated.0 -
As of last week, the local KFC here still was giving out the large 2 mashed potatoes, one large coleslaw,
one large gravy, 6 biscuits and 8 pieces of chicken, [only one breast in that}, for the $20 fillup.
I thought it was a hell of a deal, or something was wrong???
From TODAYS kfc website..
""Twenty dollars can deliver a lot of contentment. And now we?re offering you and your crew a bushel of $20 Fill Up? options to choose from, including our 8-piece Original Recipe? Chicken, new 6-piece Boneless Chicken Breasts, 12-piece Chicken Tenders, and 8-piece Extra Crispy? Chicken. Each meal comes complete with a large cole slaw, 4 biscuits, and 2 large mashed potatoes and gravy. Now that's a finger lickin? good? deal!""0 -
I'd agree. I felt that KFC was a pretty good value, based on the amount of food you received for your $$.
The Tenders bucket, especially. All white meat. 12 Tenders/w sides.
I hate it when a Company tries to pull the Wool over your eyes, (and Screw you.) like you are Stupid.
I would estimate that you now recieve only 2/3rd's the portion (of sides) you did, before this change.
I plan on asking the Manager if portion size decreased, while the $$ charged remained the same. I can clearly see, while plating it, that it did.0 -

I held a 30" waist forever. When I hit my 40's it increased to a 32" waist.
Now I'm 6'1" at 200 lbs.
34" waist, 34" inseam. (I'm 57 now.)
I think/believe I eat pretty healthy. (All in all.) Yes, give me your best shot.

Taco Bell, KFC, and dog treats? I would hate to see what you call unhealthy. :shock:KenK/84Bravo wrote:Grasshopper wrote:Love all the comments on the "healthy" food choices. That was my experience as well with the last KFC, I went to.
Place was dirty, floors were dirty and slippery, food was greasy.
I liked the mash potatoes and gravy though. Had that fresh out of the box flavor to them.0 -
hidden inflation....I saw a commercial recently where the makers of soda were actually advertising how they were doing us a favor by selling smaller portions for our health....smaller portions for the same price. A prime example are those minnie snickers, milky ways etc, the ones you give out at halloween. They are half the size they used to be....almost as long, but half the thickness. 0 -
With all this talk about KFC I had to go and got some yesterday afternoon. As usual the one I go to was good and the place was clean.
In my opinion it's hard to beat KFC's original recipe fried chicken when it's done right. I've been to several KFC's where the chicken tasted like grocery store fried chicken with breading that's greasy on the outside with meat that's dry and mealy on the inside with no spices or flavor.0
