RIP Gunny
My son & laws step father passed away last night.
Bill was a big man and was a larger then life individual who took the rains and raised a family he didn?t have to at a time when a growing child?s life was greatly affected by the postitive impact he displayed.
Bill served over 20 years in the US Marine Corps, retiringing as a Master Sergeant. He served in Vietnam, where he received a Purple Heart for various wounds he wore for all to see. His name may not be on the wall, but Bill?s death certificate was written when he was in Vietnam. Like many Veterans of the time he was exposed to things that would later cause the illnesses that would claim his life.
Carry on Sir, we have the watch from here, and Ill try and be even more the grandfather that you didn?t have to be. I doubt I can live up to your greatness, because you left some large shoes to fill, but I?ll try and not let you down. You will be missed.
