Is their a M in the serial #? I rarely shoot 3" shells and don't reload them. My standard 2 3/4 load is 3 3/4 DE with 1 1/4 oz of shot in sizes from OO down and the Lyman sabot slug. I don't hunt waterfoul

    Jim,

I'm confused, are you saying that all one needs to do in order to convert a standard 2 3/4" 1100 to a 3" 1100 is a change of barrel?

Chamber is in the barrel right? Dr. Stark has the prescription correct.

The ejection port on the standard receiver is smaller than the mag receiver. This is why the mag receiver is marked with an M. It has a longer opening to accommodate the longer 3" mag shell. Putting a 3" barrel on a standard receiver and shooting 3" shells thru it will often cause ejection problems due to the smaller opening of the standard receiver.

    WRONG!!!!!
The only thing different between the mag. and non-mag receivers is the Mag. receiver is marked Magnum!!!!

Stark may be correct. Thinking 870 for some reason and not the port but the ejector itself.

Thanks everyone! Last year I bought a new Remington Barrel for it, I wanted one with a vent rib and changeable chokes. It might already fit 3", I will check it. Thank you again!

1100 ejector is on the barrel extension...870 ejector is pinned on the left side of the receiver on the inside...
