After New Zealand massacre, US authorities search for copycats and links to America

In the statement posted online, the suspected gunman cited an array of mass shooters from around the world, including Dylann Roof, the white supremacist who killed nine African-Americans at a Charleston, South Carolina, church in 2015.

Such posts online and the surge of social media are a major factor in radicalizing white supremacists, according to John Cohen, a former senior official at the Department of Homeland Security who ran the department?s efforts to stop targeted violence.

Online platforms allow ?like-minded people who in the past were separated by geography? to share ideas and ?spread hateful and violent rhetoric,? said Cohen, who?s now an ABC News contributor.

    Not so much interesting as is predictable. Setting up the narrative to censoring speech on the internet. Law enforcement increasing protection of Mosques around the country at tax payer expense? Why has everything about this guy been scrubbed from the internet? This whole thing is a psy-op imo.

    Not long ago here in St. Cloud Minnesota we had a multiple stabbing of 9 people in their maul. The Somali perp would walk up to people and ask them if they were Muslim . When the reply was no he stabbed them and went on to the next victim. He was finally stopped by police who had to shoot him.

    A news note worthy incident that I don't think was covered in either local MN news casts or the national media. Or at least none that I seen. It's like it never happened news wise. The killing of an innocent woman by the Minneapolis police departments sole Somali police officer under completely uncalled for circumstance saw little coverage as well.

    We get a agenda driven narrative of what happens in this world by our so called news. For all I know he could have been related to our Somali congress woman ? Without more informative coverage who knows. Media will tell you which brand toothpaste Trump uses and condemn him for not brushing correctly, but if something comes along that may damage their agenda they are quite as a mouse.

    I'd never thought about it this way. We're (US taxpayers) are paying to protect these Muslims. So - they get to demonized our government and we're paying to protect them while they do it.
