    I think you are about $1500 too high on your starting price.

    I think that most buyers would want to see photos of the gun field stripped.

    And, they'd like to hear you say, "not import marked".

    Standard Service Luger. Not too bad as far as condition.

    Start it at $1.00 if you want to see what its worth or you could start it at about $800 and it will bring maybe $1200. At that price you will have it for a long time.

    I would disassemble it and photo every part with a serial number. As stated above no Import mark in the description would be a good idea as long as it doesn't have one, if it does that is going to effect value.

    Percentage of straw finish is always important...

    Showing the field stripped frame free from cracks or repair attempts is important...

    Type of safety and banner / top of receiver pics are important...

    Waffenampts and proofs or unit markings are important...

    Magazine type and base material and manufacturer and if numbers matching is important...

    Treaty of Versailles period manufacturing date or war time production makes a difference to many...

    Check the obverse sides of the grip panels for markings in pencil or chalk.

    Vet bring back with no import marks is good.

    No offense but it's nothing special that I can discern from my Luger books - no value enhancer that I can discover.

    But some key buzzwords in the description may push pricing up and generate key word search hits and interest.

    It's not a commercial model or foreign contract export piece.

    $1500 - $2000 is a good benchmark.

    A friend of mine bought two Lugers recently. One in 9mm the other in 7.65. I was really surprised at how nice the triggers were on them. Both are good shooters.

    If you want opinions, that is a 1.00 start item. And as above, take apart and take photos.
