Culinary Delight -
Had a follow up appointment at the Eye Surgery Center yesterday after work. Seemed to take forever. (Was there about 2 hours.)
About an hour drive + home, over "The Snake." Extremely twisty road from Bristol to Mtn. City, TN. (One of the top ten Motorcycle rides in the Country.)
Stopped to get a drink, before going over the Mountain, ,and saw a hot dog serving area on the way out.
Got the last two. (Score!) Mustard, relish, onions, Oh, what's this a small crock pot of Chili?
It looked absolutely horrible. Grossly overcooked, about 1/2" left in the bottom of the minature Crock Pot.
Looked like it had been in there, ...............................................................................................Forever.
So of course, I added some to my Hot Dogs. :shock: :roll:
Well, much to my surprise, about two hours later, I was having (ahem) Issues. :oops:
Guess what I am fixing for dinner? :?:
A culinary masterpiece, involving hot dogs cooked in butter, a slow cooked pot of hot dog chili, some diced onions, wheat bread, stone ground mustard, etc.
Is this Country Great, or What?

Got off a night shift job, one night, years ago. Needed gas and driving fluid.
Stopped at an open gas station, for said accessories, and spied the rollerdogs, and afore mentioned little Crock-Pot of chilli, cooked down to death warmed over.
I fixed up a couple.
The old timer behind the counter, asked me how long was my commute home from said establishment. It was a 1/2 hr, was my response.
Clerk said, your not going to make it. Don't eat those.
I have learned you should take your elders advice.
I didn't make it, but luckily, I always have at least one roll of emergency wipe in the work car.
It came in handy that night.0 -
I had no such enlightenment. The women only asked me, "Did you put some chili on them dogs?"
