Lorcin .22 question????

So this neighbor of mine, just picked up a used Lorcin L22 .22 automatic pistol.
He did get a little pissed when i told him that is probably the worst, junkest gun made, would never
get a full mag to feed thru it without at least one jam.
The slide is marked "cal. .22L"
Not .22LR
I don't believe a gun manufacturer that was in business from 1988 to 1998 or so, would chamber a
gun in an obsolete caliber like .22long.
I never seen or heard of one.
I maintain it was just a FU mismarking from the "great" quality control of lorcin.
The gun's mag accepts the long rifles, but hangs up feeding them.
He will try the longs when he finds some.

Anyone here ever see a Lorcin in Long only chambering???

    The Lorcin Model L 22 was made in .22 Long Rifle. No .22 Long version was made.

    And if you that THAT is junk- ever seen a Clerke?

    Lorcin is the only manufacturer in all my years of dealing with guns that has sent out a warning letter straight from the manufacturer to dealers warning that they were not responsible for their firearms. This was because of some lawsuit and it was many many many years ago.....but it was like a cherry on top of the Lorcin cake we all knew was not edible.


    That aside....there are some 22 shells that have a wax coating on them that can make things not feed properly.....also, most automatics work a bit better if you can polish the feed ramp (a brass brush and a drill work wonders for this in some cases.) Its always going to be crap, but sometimes crap will work properly if you take all the right steps.

    Yeap, LF, I remember those letters. The lorcin was almost guaranteed to fire if dropped on the floor when loaded and cocked.
    Too many people bought them because they "looked" like a good pocket gun. :o

    Agree NO Lorcin was made for 22l only- And as above a Lorcin looks like a Sig compared to a Clerke.

    For God sake man, if this guy is any real friend of yours take it out of his hands. You will be saving his life. Just turn it in to the next gun buy-back for $75.00 which is more than it's worth.
