For you car buffs
This car runs off of salt water, goes over 200 miles an hour has over 900 horsepower and delivers over 8000 pounds of torque. Note, I said 8,000 not 800 pounds of torque. Besides that it looks super cool. The only drawback is that you don't hear the Roar of the engine and that it's a four seater

According to three minutes of research, there's still only one car. So, it's a prototype and they are not yet in production from what I read, or didn't. I'm also sorry to have to point it out, but my car was made in 2001, eighteen years ago and wasn't designed or built to set any speed records. It's a relatively common street Ferrari. Being out-performed by an exotic one of, or even a modern production vehicle of any kind wouldn't even impress me. I plan on doing the legal speed limits on the highways and roads in Italy as I always observe. We're already arranged track time at the Ferrari factory for testing after final servicing at the end of next month, just to know what it's like and to document it's presence there with me behind the wheel. It's purportedly capable of 174mph as stock, just wouldn't even consider risking to try taking it to that speed. Possibly as a passenger with a professional driver, but not me. There would be no point.
And I've learned a long time ago there's no use arguing with a know-it-all like you. Let's Disregard the fact that it's been approved to be sold in Europe and they already have 500 orders they are fulfilling now. But you know everything... so you win I lose0 -

It really doesn't "Run" on salt water it uses salt water in the battery.
I didn't see or maybe I missed it but what happens to the salt water when its used? Does it evaporate or fall off on the road.0 -

Basic physics tells us that there is not enough stored energy in salt water to power this vehicle as described.
Yes, salt water may be the electrolyte, but the energy still has to be put into the battery before it can be extracted.

Remember 5th grade?? stick a penny and a nickle into a lemon and the small light bulb lites up.
Electric cars have been around since the first horseless carriages.
The problem still today is the amount of electricity available over periods of use.
Horsepower/torque/rpms/watts.....what ever you want to use, is still the snafu.
More of any one of them, means more battery capability is needed.

Once you extract the energy from your lemon, nickel, and penny example, it is done.
Batteries are re-chargeable. Once this car drains the energy from the battery, energy must be returned to the system in order for it to be extracted again. As stated, this energy is not contained in the salt water that is supposedly used to fuel the system. If we consider the lemon, and if there is not external energy returned to the system, there is a combination of anode and cathode that are being consumed during the charging of the capacitor(s) described in the write up. Absent an energy source (electricity) that restores the anode and cathode (as is done in an automobile battery, a lithium ion battery, well in any battery) not only will the salt water have to be replenished, but the anode and cathode will as well.
I am 100% correct. You do not get energy from nothing. Salt water does not contain the amount of energy necessary absent splitting and/or combining atoms.
The battery cannot work as alluded to in the article, i.e. being recharged only by the addition of salt water.
You do not get something for nothing.0
