Getting kind of weird around here..
We have folks eating dog treats and others arguing over how to scrub old pots.

I posted 4 gun based polls and 2 solid gun based "show me yours" threads and not only did they receive a poor audience participation response - they actually generated 3 emails or PM's critical of my contributions here...
'Possibly those responses are anti me rather than anti gun topics
Some great firearm related threads generate close to zero interest - I try to support them and make a comment but I am far from perfect or consistent
Yes it's a general interest - info forum and much of the non gun based posting brings me great joy and sparks my attention
I enjoy gun based general interest threads and dialogue

I enjoy a lot of the topics
forge and mike are good examples of gun knowledge many more also
day to day events and photos draw attention
maybe the 9 mm vs 45 glock vs 1911 topics has been beat to death
it does seem like over the change over more got frustrated and just stopped
My kick a lot of people who gave up even before the change over for personal reasons or comments directed at them a lot of good forum members have been lost . I do miss there post and projects0 -
Well just may be that the new forum in the beginning was, well messed up. Now that either some of the bugs have been worked out or the format is kind of like the last,
well members are coming back.
Now if the auction side can make some changes, like the picture viewing process
just, SUCKS.
The way I use it, scrolling side to side is a chore at best. I get aggravated and just give up. It is just very hard to purchase something if you can not view it. Make it work for PC or Fancyphone :?:0 -
some of the topics i see posted reminds me of my college days sitting in a big hall listening to a bored professor give his dissertation in a monotone voice, 500 students 3/4 asleep and 4 slant eyed nerds in the front row gazing intently on every word.. 500 just want the credits to fulfill the general studies requirements and have no vested interest in the subject matter. professor gets paid regardless if a student remember one iota or not. i hated lecture halls and avoid any and all topics of that sort...Your view may vary. 0 -

Some of you fellers are really harsh. Relax and enjoy. I find a lot of good info on everything from cancer to the polls, which I like, in the various topics posted. I hope more people join in and tell us stuff from the mundane to the insane. It makes life interesting. 0 -
I actually like the diversity of topics. I'm not a real knowledgeable gun guy and don't shoot very often. The range of topics here allows me to read about gun _and_ other topics. I read the interesting posts and bypass the ones that are of less interest. 0 -
I still believe in choices, if I don't want to participate in a particular discussion or post I don't. I don't mind the recipes, whats for supper, dog biscuit eating, or any other posts as mentioned it is GENERAL discussion 0 -
I like the General Discussion part of the Forums. It is a better news source than most places. A member can still use the General Discussion for gun topics and also "Ask the Experts" or "Black Powder" part of the Forum for more specific gun topics. I have found plenty of useful information in General Discussion. One example is the scrub old pots. I showed the post to my wife and now I don't help with the dishes anymore. 0 -

Love to hear from mike and forge , heck I even get a kick from barzilla and bsr. Difference of opinions makes for interesting discussion. Forge for his 1911 knowledge just wish I could afford his work for my gun . Mike for his encyclopedic knowledge I will never equal . Really miss Perry shooters posts . I for one followed you path and victory and pain and hope you win out
I have lost my dad, brother, uncles, cousins, and one sister is winning her battle add in loosing my closest long term friends . I think of them every night as I fall asleep try to do well to honor them and make the most of my life . so its close to home for me reading your battle with cancer I will bet more here can relate
you also area a wealth of gun Knowledge 1000X over what I will ever learn . so many great people with such a wide range of tallents and sharing repairs and suggestions from shoes to cars and firearms
to me the forum is like a tv station or news article is some one gets depressed or frustrated at the topic skip over it simple
I find it sad some attack you on your personal e-mail about it .
life is too short as it is to find new things to get upset about .

There were 3 folk here who brutally attacked me through emails and even at one point openly in forum thread responses maybe 2 years ago...
The mods were equally brutal in trying to protect me when things really got out of hand.
All 3 were apparently friends and often coordinated systematic horrific assaults on me - including claims that I made up the cancer and the girls and other attributes of me existence.
2 got locked out and kept opening new accounts and continued to pursue me with tirades of hate that extended to 3 other websites.
Several members here defended me heroically - many demanded I name these losers openly in the forums - but it was my battle and I needed to deal with it.
One popped back up after the forum format upgrade and mass email solicitation and invitation campaign - and he stirred up a couple of other members into a pitchfork and torches state again
For some reason you with like me or hate me - I seem to provoke a few into a visceral rage filled venomous toxic poisonous misanthropic state and seemingly invite their assaults.
It will settle down and he will find someone else to lock onto and tear down.
And I don't expect idolatry or protected status or hero worship or a free ride on a pony.
Ignore me or put me on your foe list and never have to see me posts - or avoid opening and reading them...
Sometimes my heart weighs heavily and it's hard to breath or turn away from thoughts that prevent sleep and bring anxiety.

Mike, they're just idiots. Don't let them get you riled up. their life is non-existent compared to yours. As far as I and every decent person would agree, they wouldn't make a pimple on dogs ass, let alone a human.
As far as the emails go, when you see them and you know who they are, just delete them without opening them. And if they post on here, we'll just let them know what kind of piece of turd they are!!!0 -

Really???? I was always under the impression that it was a general discussion as the name implies, in which we could discuss anything and everything under the Sun except wild women, religion and supposedly politics. I wonder who's wrong. The title of this forum and me, or you?0 -
