As far as US stockpile, I'm not a big conspiracy theorist, but I'll bet the old adage "All that glitters is not gold" probably fits into this somehow... 0 -
info has it the last creditable audit was in 1953 and there was peek-a-boo look in 1974 with NO serial #'s checked and only one room opened to view with no count being done .......so ?????? who knows ....some say the actual gold has been bled off with IOU"s much like the robbery of the social security fund ( thanks to congress)......only the SHADOW knows !!!! 0 -

8 or 9 yrs ago Venezuela demanded the U.S to ship their oil trading gold stored at Ft. Knox back to them, I never heard if we did or not.......many said we didn't have enough gold to send back to them :shock: .......so maybe ??? 0 -

Out at Hampton Plantation story has it that Archibald Rutledge found a crock of gold coins covered by a copy of the newspaper proclaiming the start of the civil war. Also in St. Stephen SC supposedly the Confederate forces robbed a Union payroll of 100K or more Gold and buried it but were shot and killed before it was found.
Personally I think in the near future it is quite possible that mankind will learn to enrich other elements and be able to make gold.
