My Friends Son Shooting
He joined the FFA and they had their shooting match today. He came in second place for his group.
He shot a 167 and the person that beat him shot 168. The same boy won last year also. I do not know what gun he shot but it was a bolt action with a scope.
My friends son shot with my Henry without a scope. He could have shot my Marlin 60 with a scope on it or a souped up tricked out Ruger 10/22 with a scope but his dad wanted open sights for his first year.
My Marlin 60 is a great shooting accurate gun.

I learned to shoot rifles without scopes at an early age (pennies & match sticks off fence post) and still shoot without a scope, it's more fun and challenging, shooters that use scopes don't impress me much as a skill rating of being a good shot but I also find nothing wrong if that's what one wants to do........heck even my 10 yr. old granddaughter can be a expert with a zero'ed in scope but she's learning Grandpaws way

That is great and his Dad is 100% correct. Learn to shoot with iron sights. 0
