Boiler pipe: SUCCESS,,,
Our house has radiant hot water heat, (new boiler),with 3/4" copper pipes. The pipes will ping all the way down the line upon heat up. I've always been told "that's the nature of the beast". At the same time,I knew there has to be a way to minimize this rolling ping and pop. I tried a couple different straps to anchor the pipes to the floor joists. I hung them loose,I hung them tight,no difference.
Then back to the computer and more google search,when lo and behold I came upon this how to video from none other than.'This Old House'. Well duh. I watched how the fixed the same issue I was having. He uses a specific type of pipe clamp/strap. I found the exact ones at home depot.
I just finished putting the new clamps on one run/zone,and fired up the thermostat to heat up the cold pipes. 180 degree water hit the ambient 65 degree pipes, NO PING-NO POPPING!! Absolutely amazed!!! Needless to say,all pipes in the system are getting these clamps. I am sold.

glad you took care of your ghost
when my wife and I were fist married ( wish the internet was around back then ) we rented a old farm house had hot water heat with the old cast iron radiators in each room
I knew noting about any part of it ( but that never stopped me then or now to screw with any thing )
some rooms the radiator was cold and other rooms were hot / warm WTH
I was never one to ask for any help over a few weeks of looking it all over and messing with the valves and then finding smaller petcock type fittings I stumbled on bleeding the air out of each radiator . made a world of difference having heat in all the rooms0 -
