Remington 700 26 Nosler
Have a Remington 700 26 nosler and was wondering the dom it has no barrel codes only a serial # G7025269. Also when did Remington start chambering the 26 Nosler in the model 700 or did they ever chamber the 26 nosler there is nothing on the barrel anywhere except 26 nosler also the receiver and the barrel are light green color maybe a cerakote finsish and the synthetic stock is a little darker green. Any info is always appreciated. Terrill

Is the serial number stamped on the barrel or on the receiver? If there is no stamping on the barrel with Remington Arms, Ilion NY, or wherever it was made then my WAG is that it is a re barreled 700. I've never heard of big R chambering the 26 Nosler. 0 -
It has to be a custom gun.
Call this guy, he made them, maybe it's one of his???

Interesting cartridge. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nosler_proprietary_cartridges I have zero 404 brass. I can make 256 Newton easy enough.
added Available today isn't always true tomorrow. I offer my 22 Jet as an example. I'd sure hate to try and make them from 357's myself.0 -

You do not need 404 to make 26 Nosler. There are plenty of 26 Nos. available on the market at a lot less than 404's, and it can be made from any full length RUM case.0 -
338magnut,
Here are all of the markings usually present on factory Remington barrels:
Anything less or different is either an after market barrel or some other manufacturer of factory barrels fitted to your Remington.0
