Can buyers without a rating be blocked?
Is it possible to block buyers that have no rating? I am not against selling to a newbie, we were all one once. But I've been burned twice by non rated buyers.

I have had just the opposite experiences with new bidders. Most of what I sold recently was won by newbies. I had zero problems with them what ever. You just had a bit of bad luck. Go through the process, get your fees refunded and hope a newbie with a fat checkbook bids early, often and high. You luck is bound to change....

I still say post a link to your auctions that you had troubles with.
It just may be your layout or wording that is the trouble.
Let us look at them.
IE.... A "no credit cards accepted" line amongst 3 paragraphs of conditions may be lost to some newbies........Just a thought....0 -

I tend to agree. If you block them now, then when they do get rated, They'll Never buy from you. Besides that, you can get burnt by a person that is rated it just as easy. Are you going to block everybody?0 -

Not only that. Just think about a new guy looking over the site, he sees something he want so he goes through the registration process to buy on GB, gives his name, address, credit card number, etc. Then he tries to bid on the item that got him to commit to signing up and finds out he's blocked. That doesn't increase the odds he'll continue with the site, be bad for business.
Hell, I've made purchases through GB for over a decade, have great feedback, and I tend to pass on sellers that have the "non rated buyers must contact me before bidding" BS in there description. Just doesn't set right with me.0 -

Advise to new buyers, bid/buy it now on some of chollagardens auctions, complete transaction per GB rules, request/get feedback. No feedback/new buyer problem gone.

Just happened to me TWICE. New buyer just registering specifically to take my product out of the market. Really sleazy.
Next time I will block these "new buyers" as described. A couple of bad apples spoiling it for the whole bunch!0 -
I am burned 5 times this month already from high raters 0 -
100% of the NR bidders that won items in my auctions in the last 2weeks have not paid. I wish GB had a method of requiring they follow through when they win or select BIN, both times I had other bidders and have lost money on the relistings.
On the first few items for NR bidders they need to have a way to have funds on deposit, or an account link to pull funds out. It would stop this bs.
