    A strange situation for me. I prefer the 1911 for its fit and trigger. That is why I shot a MADORE wad cutter 1911 in competition and own five of them in total plus a 25-2 wheel gun. However, the G21 has a 13 round magazine and it has never jammed in over 5,000 rounds of use. The Glock is my go-to home defense handgun, it is in a safety holster screwed to my headboard.

    I own Glocks, 1911?s and other semi autos and revolvers and can shoot and maintain them all very well so why would I choose. If one can?t appreciate the classic design of a 1911, or a good S&W revolver, or the simplicity and reliability of a Glock then one should do some introspection in my opinion. And if one really cannot fire a Glock pistol without ?blowing it up? perhaps one should consider seeking an education on the subject.

    A gagzillion years ago, when I taught a practical pistol course, Many times I was asked:
    "what's the best gun to have for personal defense?"

    I always answered, "the best gun is ANY gun you have in your hand when the SHTF."

    Right on Brother!! Working the counter in a gun shop you hear it all day long, folks bitching about the shortcomings of certain firearms. Especially the high speed low drag wantabes. " How can anyone shoot a stock trigger?? No one can hit anything with a Glock unless you put in a Zev trigger and a new barrel. What's wrong with the trigger on this, what's the name of this gun, a CAR? Why is it soooo long before is shoots?? Never mind none of these people could stand on their hind legs and shoot even 4" group at 25 yards. Hell they never shot any handgun that far. But man put up a big target at 7 yards and boy are they fast. Most of the rounds even stayed on target. I once had a guy order a high end 1911 and come back in a week with a new Kart barrel he wanted installed so it would be more accurate. He acted kinda funny when I told him his new pistol came with a hand fitted Kart barrel. I have always thought the best pistol shooters come with some bulls eye training in their background just like the best pool shooters have spent time shooting straight pool. It's a poor workman who blames his tools for his personal weakness. I know it's fun to poke fun at other people's stuff whether cars or guns or whatever but some of them are really serious and they usually have no practical experience to base their opinions on.     I get a lot of the ? what is the best gun questions ?at the shop I work in . My stock answer is the one that fits your hand the best and that you have faith in . Me , I love 1911?s but it is not everyone?s cup of tea. Shoot what works the best for you
