2A Sanctuary County
At one of the info sessions with Supt. of NY State Police, King Cuomo threatened county sheriffs with loss of jobs because many complained about some of provisions in NY Safe(unsafe) Act of 2013. He seemed to forget that while he appointed the Supt. of SP, the people of NY State appoint the County Sheriffs. Many of the upstate and western Sheriffs went on the record as refusing to enforce many of the provisions of Safe Act that they considered unconstitutional.
Fast Forward, Because of the above I believe and the Sanctuary City mess a lot of towns in New Mexico, Illinois. Washington and Oregon are passing 2A Sanctuary Ordinances to back up Sheriffs in some counties. Many of these Sheriffs complain that they have a real problem taking away guns from 18-20 year old who have done nothing wrong not to mention some of the other bad laws on the books.
For some of those folks in Oregon and Washington perhaps there is still some hope. Biggest impact seems to be in New Mexico.

Yes, the actions of several sheriffs in this state are even garnering threats from the Governor and AG. It's only serving to bolster the lawsuits that are pending before the state court. 0 -
IIRC the Sheriff is the highest law Officer in that County. What he decides is law. 0 -
