Trying to set up my office

I have spent the last several hours trying to get my new printer, my new laptop, and my new wifi to get along. The computer had no problem getting on the network but the damn printer is another story. Oh by the way I discovered yesterday that one can purchase a printer that is not a copier. Oh Yea!!! Well I did not know that but I guess I will have to order another one so I can make copies. I just can not get the computer to recognize the printer even though the printer says it is on the wireless network. The stupid laptop keeps saying it can't find the printer and I keep yelling," What'da ya mean you can't find the printer?? It's right there in front of you three feet away!!! What are you blind!!!" So far that hasn't done any good but nether has rebooting the wireless or the printer or the computer and yelling makes me feel a little better. I was on hold with the Brother printer support for twenty minutes without talking with anyone. Then I tried instant chat and these two photos of a lovely girl popped up and in one she was blond and in the other she had dark hair but she was really pretty in both and she had typed that she really wanted to help me solve any problem I might be having with a Brother product. SOOO I typed out my problem and put in the model number of the printer and waited. And waited. And nothing ever happened.

    If the printer is that close to the computer, why not just use a cable? Don

    Use a hardwire connect till you can get a live body in customer support. Wireless printers need network addresses and paswords from your Wifi modem B4 they cooperate.

    According to the display on the printer it has the correct network and password. I will pick up a usb cable tomorrow.

    You've possible already done this.

    Did you get an installation disk? If so & if your Laptop has a CD/DVD drive,
    run the installation setup.

    If no installation media came with the printer try the company website.

    Also the USB cable will work like a charm!
