Many of the items listed GB suggest a visit to the above before using the item. What is your definition of a "Competent Gunsmith"?

i havent found one i would trust with anything valuable around here. i certainly dont know them all but the ones i do know often use the wrong tool for the job or problem is solved by a bigger hammer.

Competent Gunsmith??

Ask the gunsmith how many Mauser bolts he offset down for scope use?
{Hint....if he is younger than 60 yo, don't bother.}

That's a "lawyer" item, gets the seller off the hook if it blows up (and you didn't take it to a Smith).
They don't really care if the Smith is competent as long as they have an out as far as a potential law suit is concerned.

The word "competent" when used along side many occupations can turn into an oxymoron very quickly!

Competent gunsmith in the above context is anyone that will take the legal flak in the sellers place if the gun goes Kaboom or such
