Highest FDIC insured interest rate I've seen for a while

    Try checking out some State Tax Exempt funds. The one I am in has been yielding as high as 4% and no taxes.

    Yes they are something to look into and I've owned some when I was in a higher tax bracket (working). My bracket is low and I'm retired so tax exempt isn't a deal maker. :)

    I recall the 16-17% CD's in the 80's. Locked them in for 5 yrs.

    Cap one is paying 2.% on thier checking as well. Not too shabby.

    Synchrony Bank (online) has one year CDs @ 2.8%. Altura Credit Union has 3.5% CDs for 50 months.
    I just put $3000 in a 5 month CD at California Coast Credit Union @ 9%. (That was the maximum amount & only time offered.)

    local bank here has CD rate of 2.77%...works for me and i can go to town and get my hands on em

    Navy Federal at 3.75% for 40 months.

    left out ...that 2.77% is on 12 month CD's... i won't go any longer .....and stagger maturity date thru the year
