He never mentioned what Team he was on. (Not a surprise.) [Nor did I ask.]
He and his Team, came in to my business about two days after 9/11. (We were within sight of the Towers.) Came in specifically asking for me - Said they knew about me. (?) I spent the next three full days, outfitting him and his Team for a "High Altitude Mountainous Deployment of Unknown Duration."
State of the Art Gear. Our shop was renowned in the USA for its expertise, and high end ,state of the art gear. It was an honor to be able to do assist them. I was humbled. I had various other Teams come in, asking for me by name over the next several months, doing the same.
Bogs and I communicated for several years afterward.0 -
About two years later, I had a Black Ranger (I found out later as to his Status.) come in to our shop. Approached my desk/counter, asked are you ? Yes I am. Well, Bogs and your Brother In Law say Hi. (I knew where my Brother In Law was.)
Oscar told me, he had been sitting around a campfire with them about 5 nights previous. (Small World.)
Oscar, became another good friend, backpacking Buddy over the following years. He is now back in, as a PJ. (Was out studying/Med School when we were acquainted.)0
