I need an internet orthopeadic specialist
My left knee has been bothering me. It does not really hurt to walk but it sometimes unlocks when I take a step. If I push my foot into a Mucks boot it hurts like the dickens while pushing down. At night it will hurt while sleeping. The knee will sometimes go into a spasm while napping on the couch on my back with sudden sharp pains.
What is your professional diagnosis as to what parts are FUBAR.

Where is the edit button for our threads. I wrote AND instead of AN. It is still logging me out after 90% of my posts... 0 -
While I am not an Orthopedic Specialist, I have stayed in a Holiday Inn Express before.
I'd venture to say, your knee is F'd up.
(And) In my professional opinion, the part that is F'd up is your knee. In order to be even more specific, it is your Left knee.

I'll second Dr Bravo 0 -
My right knee started "creaking" about a week ago. Every time I walk down any stairs, it creaks like I need some WD40 or something!
My next check up with the VA isn't till July and I also have this left foot problem on the ball of my little toe. Feels like I stepped on a sharp piece of glass. My wife thinks it is just a callus but I trust my forum medical experts sooooo much more than my better half! :roll:0 -
You guys are great! I now know I have a F'ed up knee. That diagnosis save me a $20.00 Co-pay at my doctors office, THANKS! I have done some searching on Google for F'ed up knee syndrome and have to sort thorough 1,000,000 pages to see the one that best fits my issue. 0 -

I have some really cool saw blades for my Dremel that I need to test drive. Maybe I can fix it for you.0 -

No, no, no..................................this requires a titanium drill bit. Sawing it off is after, this drilling does not work out.

Not easy to get a diagnosis on a forum, without teaching anatomy. We would probably need to use big words like flexion, extension, cephalic, caudal, anterior, posterior, etc.
Suggest you see your family practitioner first. If he is any good, he can manipulate your leg & give you a likely diagnosis.

Good luck with you?re knee.
And, by the way, you can edit your posts.
Edit: there?s a little picture of a pencil above your post, and it works0 -
When my ACL was severed my knee would unlock when I stepped down. 0 -
For Pete's sake man you missed an opportunity, simply call 911 and report that you were attacked by two Cracker hating black guys from Nigeria and leave a box of saltines on your steps 0 -

Good, you did not mention menses. I was worried about that one.0 -
On a more serious note, your knee could be painful for any number of reasons. I am not a doctor but observed my wife's knee problems. Over the years she received cortisone and. "chicken fat" injections, used cortisone patches, etc. The Orthopedic surgeon treating her eventually advocated a knee replacement but wouldn't order either a CAT scan or MRI so she found a doctor that would. She had a touch of arthritis, a tear in the cartilage and a torn meniscus. Four weeks ago she had outpatient surgery where the surgeon smoothed out the bone surface for the arthritis, took a little bit of cartilage out and cut away the torn meniscus. She had some strong pain killers for 10 days or so, was on crutches, and used a machine that circulated ice water from a container to a "pad" over her knee and back to the container.
A week after the surgery the Dr. removed the 3 sutures from 3 small (1/2") incisions around the knee. He also froze a spot and removed about 32 cc's of blood. These steps greatly improved her time on the knee. She recently started physical therapy to increase the joint's range of motion and muscle strength.
Perhaps someone could compare the above to a total knee replacement.0 -
Probably kneesles. Have you been vaccinated?
Probably too late for the smallcox vaccine.0 -

I have just been diagnosed with a form of "drop knee"
Apparently when the high level (8-10) intractable persistent neuropathy spikes or I have a few rough pain days they say that I blow a fuse and the CNS overloads and I loose function in the right leg from the top of the knee down
The knee still can swing or be manipulated like a hinge - the foot points down - the knee won't lock up or support weight - it's like a peg leg or a prosthetic - like it fell asleep times 100
The phenomena is not bilaterally symmetrical - the right leg is worse them the left.
Neat right???

After a lifetime of Texas Schoolboy football and irrigation farming (carrying lots of 30' joints of 8" irrigation pipe and walking miles through mud) my knees started hurting.
Got to where a handful of painkillers/anti-inflammatory pills weren't doing much doc decided I needed both replace -- bone on bone contact.
That was 10 years ago and I've had little problem since but it sounds like you've got a problem with the connective tissues.
What about a good brace?0 -
I fubared my knee and the only thing that I found to help was to stretch it on a regular basis. I find a chair and slowly squat down and the pop and flex really helps. also i do a sprinters streach (standing i grab my ankle and pull) this is giving relief. 0 -
With a physical problem like this it sounds like you may qualify for a Go Fund Me account which I can set up for you and we'll split 50/50
, with Hundreds of Thousands of dollars in your pocket your knee will feel so good you'll soon be strutting around.......pain free

Could be Goutness . Might want to switch to sheep for awhile .
If that doesn't work it sounds a bit like worn and or torn cartilage . Can happen from injury and wear. Either can come from old age or a work environment that includes heavy lifting or a lot of standing on a cement floor.
We really need pictures to be sure , so sharpen the pocket knife and make a vertical incision approximately 8 inches long at the joint. Peel back the skin and soft tissue until we can get a good look at the cartilage. Take a bunch of pictures cause once your open you likely won't want to do a follow up. 6# monofilament and a sharp #3 ? hook ought to get you sewed back up pretty good. Better have an assistant to call 911 if you be to busy hopp'n round to do so. Don't get the wife angry either. Best do it outside where she don't have to clean up.
I've heard they have some machines at the doctor place that can look inside there without cutting it open, but that's up to you. I think they cost a bit more.
Disclaimer : I am a few semesters short of being a real doctor so I take no responsibility for what may happen if you follow my instructions.
Have a nice day !0 -
Not a specialist but I will wager when it is damp outside it hurts worse. 0 -
Would a brace of good whiskey tumblers full of the amber fluid work? 0 -
Go to a real doctor. Get a X-Ray and see what is wrong. You may have arthritis which will need either injections or possibly a knee replacement . Waiting simply puts you at risk for more bone damage. 0
