Benchmade stepped in it.....
The Oregon City Police have unintentionally shined a light on Benchmade's support of anti-2A candidates and assistance in destroying guns....not a sound position considering their customer base.

Destruction of firearms used in a crime or taken from a felon or turned in at a gun buy back often get destroyed. I know of several departments that keep them and sell them - but we are not talking legally owned guns - and if you turned it over for sneakers or some groceries that's on you - most of these guns are unusable garbage
The reality is they often get scrapped - recycled - we make more new guns then they destroy old ones by a ridiculous margin
I own benchmade - I like them - will keep it and wear it with pride and would buy again

I think it is less about the gun destruction and more about this causing people to look deeper and finding political contributions to Anti 2A politicians. The gun destruction just exposed the political affiliations of it's executives. Like it or not the main consumer of Benchmade knives if military, veterans and gun enthusiasts. No matter how Benchmade tries to spin this, it's going to hurt their profit margin, just as Dick's Sporting Goods has found out. The wrath of the 2A crowd is swift and merciless.0 -
The last 3 election cycles Benchmade gave money ONLY to Democrats and many of them being anti gun Democrats. You should watch the video by The Gun Collective on YouTube. I mean really who does Benchmade think is the majority of people buying their products? I would bet a large number are gun owners. This reminds me so much of Dan Cooper of Cooper Firearms and his support of Obama. Ended his reign of his own company. Hell I don?t even hear about Cooper Rifles anymore. 0 -

When the Judge orders them destroyed there is not much that can be done, other than to destroy them and comply with the court order. My PD has them destroyed with the assistance of local companies too, along with alot of other evidence, including drugs that's no longer needed and ordered destroyed. Like I said I'm not bothered by the destruction, I'm bothered by them being exposed for financially supporting extreme liberals.0 -
Is a 4" grinder a special tool? Benchmade should have stayed away from any aspect of destroying anything, let alone guns.

The judge didn't order Benchmade to destroy the guns, did he? (No, he didn't)
Benchmade willingly participated. Their participation in the process is what makes them complicit in furthering the false premise that guns are the problem.

He can issue all the statements he wants, the damage is done. They are likely going to suffer financial losses for this PR disaster. I've never owned a benchmade knife anyways, haven't been a fan of their styling. I prefer Microtech in that price range. 0 -
Like it or not there is a huge fight going on. I don?t the the folks on the gun forum started it either. But we need to decide what side of it we want to be on and vote with our wallets on anything that even appears to be anti. If we don?t decisively do that, I expect our rights, our views will continue to be marginalized and then taken. 0 -

I watched it yesterday. It is perhaps the most hollow, overedited non-start for a response I've ever seen, by a company trying in vain to cover their tracks and posteriors. The body language of that man during the video tells all, IMO. I see it as a similar situation to the stunt Dick's Sporting Goods pulled, only Benchmade responded with "hold my beer and watch this shit".0 -

I don't own a Benchmade, and likely never will. I find them seriously over-priced for what they are. My Gerbers cut just fine and cost A LOT less.0 -

According to your reasoning, it would be okay if they passed the red flag law in your state that your neighbor calls the local PD and has your guns confiscated without due process?... after all they're just helping out the anti 2A movement that became legal in your state. We have local businesses that help us dispose of evidence that has been ordered destroyed, including a machine shop that destroys the guns. I would never identify them or their assistance publically..LOL. 0 -

Those of us who have never bought benchmade continuing to do that will have no impact. It will take a lot of people who do like benchmade now not buying. 0
