I think I screwed up
Decided I needed a rotary tumbler with stainless steel pins for my reloading room. Works great. A bit of a learning curve to not get those little pins everywhere. After rinsing the brass I put it on a cookie sheet and set it on the woodstove to dry. The Princess distracted me with some project that she needed and I forgot about the brass[:(].
It is discolored and I really don't know how hot it truly got.
Today I have been testing the temp on the stove running hard and I have temps approaching 450 degrees. So my best guess is 400 plus degrees.
This is 17 Mk IV brass I make them from 221 fireball and outside turn The necks to fit my Cooper 38. Lots of time in each case to make.
Am I safe to use them or do I toss them?

Load up a few light loads and try them, then work up from there if OK. 0 -
I bet it gets hotter when it's fired than it got on the stove top. 0 -

Do the crush test with your fingers. If it crushes easily, toss it, if not you will be alright most likely. The primer pocket area is the most critical. If it got too hot when fired with full loads the primers will fall out. If you can't crush the case with fingers it SHOULD be okay but proceed with caution on the first loads. 0 -

Cant crush them with my fingers.
Im just scared, this is a very accurate rifle. A ground squirrel slaying machine. Princess once killed 98 straight with it. She still blames me for the missed shot at 99.

I set oven to 215 to dry brass on a cookie sheet. Done in 20 minutes. 400 is to hot and IMHO will compromise your brass.

I have the frankford magnet in my midway cart now. Also while looking for the magnet I ran across a brass drier made for washed cases. Im not totally sure I need it yet but the magnet looks like a good idea.
My first batch that I tumbled I fished the brass out of the barrel with my hand. Bad plan, too many pins still in the brass.
Second batch.. I used my media separator. No pins in the brass. Learning curve.[;)]0
