Gunman was a convicted felon...
According to Fox News:
?A woman claiming to be Martin's mother told the Chicago Sun-Times her son was "stressed out" before the shooting.
?He was way too stressed out,? she said. She declined to tell the paper her name and did not specify why he was stressed. Court records show Martin had a conviction for stabbing a woman in Mississippi in 1994, according to the paper.?

Nothing new in this story; we already knew that repeat violent offenders usually get their guns on the street.
Chicago & Cook Co officials will only continue to do what they have always done:
1) Pass a duplicate of an existing gun law, &
2) Further restrict the rights of law abiding citizens, &
3) Continue "catch & release" of violent criminals.

But the laws would prevent him from being armed.. oh wait the law prevented the innocent from being armed so they could stop him, incredible 0 -
So this is their system in Illinois...they require a FOID card issued by them, so this convicted felon goes and obtains a FOID card, then buys a Glock .40 pistol. At some point these genius' figure out he shouldn't have a FOID and a gun so they notify him to turn his gun in...hmmmmm..then no one follows up....yet we need new laws to stop these situations. 0 -
