OK me too, first call a Uber to take you to Charleston SC, head to Hall's Chop house, order just about anything on the menu, enjoy. Pay the large tab and go home.

Being a northern Michigander I was raised on pasties! [:p] Ours originated from the copper mines up in da UP. Brought here by the Finnish immigrants. Whelen, your recipe sounds very good and I like the meat you use!

A big difference between the Butte's and the Upper's recipe is the addition of diced rutabaga's and carrots in the mix. Da Upper Peninsula also used lard mixed with beef suet in the crust and the meat could be ground beef with added stew meat for texture. They also blend the all of the meat and veggies together not layered like in the Butte pasty.

I will definitely give yours a try and appreciate you sharing! Joel[:p]

The administrators were thinking about opening up a new forum called "men that can't take care of themselves forum" but they thought it would get kind of lonely over there for you by yourself[;)][:D]
