Range report: M1A SOCOM II
Picked up a sweet M1A SOCOM II recently for a reasonable price. Took it to the range twice and thought I'd regale you troglodytes with some observations:
1. Shoots a little low at 50 yards, haven't shot it beyond that yet.
2. Accurate.
3. Doesn't eject the empties very vigorously. Like sometimes 3-4 feet, rarely more than 8. Is this common or a harbinger of FTEs to come?

That's plenty far, but also dependent on the load your shooting? You did properly grease the rifle yes? 0 -
Used? Check if it has an adjustable gas plug. Will be a Allen key in the end of the plug if it is. Could be the gas is turned down? 0 -
How many benches near you did you clear [:D]?
Observations 1 and 2 don't jive.0 -
What's the verdict? I'm still not sure why you are so so concerned with a 4 foot ejection distance without a known cartridge type or if the rifle is properly lubed and the gas system clean? 0 -

Haven't gotten around to cleaning or adjusting it yet. Doesn't look like it's been shot enough to foul up the gas system, but looks can be deceiving.0 -
