Amazon CANCELS plan for a New York City Office
First there was AOC and now a gaggle of New York City politicians and nutty protesters that just don't care if they ever get a real job,, and this includes the protesters.[:D]
NYC will not regret their decision, matter of fact when the city goes broke there won't be anyone around to know NYC looked a gift horse in the month and said,, you've go halitosis, get heck out of here.
25,000 jobs GONE, bye-bye, hasta la vista, never to return.
IDIOTS and AOC wasn't there, gezzz the city must be full of thousands of idiots.
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said last week it would be ?governmental malpractice? for state lawmakers to oppose the deal after reports came out that the company was reconsidering. Cuomo and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio had both been proponents of the deal and worked together to court Amazon.

maybe they can start giant homeless shelters like on the west coast ...no real high paying jobs there other than $70000.00 per employee a year to clean the streets of human waste and water these new migrants add to their adopted city ????? at a 5% growth rate a year...... 0 -
Just like a liberal, complain about a gift horse...
New York's loss will be somebody else's gain0 -
They can come to Virginia. We like black smiley faces down here. 0 -
This happens all over the place.
I read about Trader Joes wanting to put a store up in the hood somewhere in the PNW. The hoodrats didn't want it, they thought they needed some stupid cultural center instead and the jobs didn't pay enough or some such crap. They were also worried about "Gentrification", That is where the area is no longer a chithole to live in.
I'd give them a dumpster and say there's you cultural center dumbazz.0 -
All is not as it seems. Amazon had originally announced Minneapolis as being on the consideration list, specifically a spot not far north of me (western suburb of Mpls.). When it was discovered that it would be a traffic and infrastructure nightmare for the area, the local climate cooled significantly and only a token offer was made to Amazon. Turns out they were fishing for someone else to foot the bills and shoulder the problems and were looking for a free ride and a big handout. No thanks. 0 -
Smart move. Why pay some of the highest taxes in the world. 0 -

Thats is why the libtards were protesting. Amazon got a great tax deal they were not going to pay much in taxes what they were going to do was provide 25,000 jobs.
But who needs a job when you are on welfare.0 -
The plans for Amazon to move into Queens were largely hashed out in secret, without input from local lawmakers. There was immediate backlash after the deal was announced, in part because of the major concessions that New York agreed to give Amazon to entice the company to move in. That included up to $1.5 billion in incentives in exchange for creating 25,000 jobs. Amazon had promised $2.5 billion in investment.
Residents and local lawmakers were concerned that those jobs wouldn?t go to the people currently living in Queens, but would instead attract outside talent who would move in, drive up costs, and push out long-time residents. Even Amazon?s interest in moving to Queens had been enough to drive sales of expensive homes and apartments, sometimes sight-unseen, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Maybe even New Yorkers know when they're taking it dry.0 -
With future "Artic Vortexes" they won't be able to ship "Prime". That will hurt the bottom line and his divorce which will make him lose at least half now and half of the future earnings. Poor Mr. Bazo. 0 -

NY has been attempting to attract new business for some time. They are going so far as to advertise in the Southern states.
They offer amnesty from periods ranging up to 10 years. After that point, you get the full brunt of some of the most oppressive taxation so typical of DEMOCRAT regimes.
The breaks are for state taxes only, counties and city taxes still apply.
As a MB, I would never take their bait.
Trump really put the quietus on NY with the new tax laws and DEMOCRAT states are feeling the pain and I am as smug as ever over it. Maybe people at least those who work will change their voting habits.0 -
welllll..run the big boys off and joe average is FREE now to create any number of those 25000 jobs on his own .....???? OKY DOKY 0 -
I got a kick out of Ocasio Cortez saying the $3B tax break could be better spent on other things. [;)] 0 -
OKC is getting a big distro center. Right next to the airport oddly enough...amazon jets soon! 0 -
AOC taking care of the people! 0 -
Moron mayor and POS governor started talking how they are a "Union" city and state and would push to unionize Amazon workers before the deal was done.
Amazon killed the deal right after the 2 lefturd jerkoffs barfed their commie BS.
To watch the POS gov andy boy of NY go crying to Trump how people are leaving his cluster f***state is priceless.
Hope the Don said "GFY"
demoncraps and their 2-faced BS make me barf [;)]0 -

In this case she may be right, maybe not. Here in Indiana we spent a ton of tax payer dollars to get the main United Hub in Indianapolis. Invested a bunch, gave all kinds of tax breaks etc. United stayed practically no time and we took a dry screwing. I was pissed at the idiots on the state level that bent us over. United used up the perks and moved on to the next bunch of idiots.
The devil's in the details.0 -
Regardless of which elected officials are involved, try to keep your eye on the ball. The dirt was in this morning's paper. Wherever this facility is built, the same thing will happen as at the HQ in Seattle: housing costs skyrocket, driving out low-income residents and worsening traffic congestion. Here in MN Amazon's plan was seen thru early and largely rejected. Would you want to give a 3 billion dollar subsidy to the world's most valuable company and the world's wealthiest person in return for those headaches, and no guarantees? NIMBY 0 -

There's a saying in baseball....."sometimes the best trades are the ones you don't make" [;)]. It may turn out to be a lucky break for the statewide New York taxpayers. 0 -
well they got $3BILLON left now for the AOC Center of Interperative Dance.......maybe a bigger whizzy than the oblabber memorial nausoleum in chitcago who got only $500MILLION donated and disappeared two public parks for people to use.... 0 -
When Amazon was touring our manufacturing facility, they were impressed with what they saw. So much so, that they wanted our particular manufacturing facility to fabricate 10,000 Semi Truck Trailers for them.
Deal breaker was that they wanted all 10,000 Trailers to come out of our (one) facility. (Rated highest in our Co. in efficiency and quality.) Not spread amongst the 5 plants. (And) The real deal killer was, they wanted a price break.
Right. Our plant made 10,500 Trailers last year. (So one years worth of production. Tell your other clients, too bad, so sad.) And we are taking too many orders/commitments now. We are turning away business. (Our plant is running three shifts, 24/7.)
Why?? Would we reduce our price, (And) give you exclusive rights to our product, saying screw you to our other clients.
It was an easy "No." (Although a 10,000 Trailer order was attractive.)
Hey, you want Cheaper Trailers, (?) Go with a Cheaper/lesser quality competitor.
Screw Amazon.0
