    It's a unique curated special order rarity

    Some of my guns have hit ridiculous record auction highs

    Some have been a bit flat

    Market conditions prevail - locust fork is the best option

    One gun I bought for $99 from sarco hit $750

    Markets fluctuate - was a time the 1886 would have brought $10,000 and a time it would have not seen $1000

    I get the fact that it can't be lettered because Winchester has no records for the period and neither does anybody else

    I get the fact that people don't trust auction descriptions and have bought a pig in a poke

    Approx 60+ years of unbroken provable ownership and the ephemera and Kasey as the seller and my ownership usually commands a premium

    Nobody expected the M-1 carbine to almost break $2000 and nobody thought the garand sniper would pass $6000 - in fact a number of folks came pretty close to calling me a liar on those two

    It's a very nice rifle that went for just a little more than I would have thought.
    Again, although rare a 33WCF is about the least desirable 1886 to obtain by a Winchester Collector.
    Post 1899 is a strike against it and of course the add ons can not be proven.
    No offense meant, just my thoughts.........

    Yes, caliber is a huge factor in valuing collectible '86s. The 33 WCF turns off many Winchester collectors, smaller pool of potential buyers. Someone got a hell of a deal.

    I know the .33 wcf is frowned upon and looked down on by Winchester aficionados

    I find it a delightful cartridge if a bit of a thumper when recoiling

    I suspect there are not a hundred guns in this exact configuration in existence - but collector interest trumps rarity

    BTW - respect to all you guys

    The fact that any of you consider me an expert and support me means a lot
