Call me "conspiracy nut", But I believe the email feature was shut down
to prevent off auction site sales.
And almost rightly so. This is a business that makes it's money from
auction use, not good old boys selling to each other by emails.
Ebay learned early to control contact between members by letting emails only go thru the sales of items.
Don't know how many times I bought an item off ebay, and when it came in, a "flyer sheet" from the seller was in the package with an website listed.[;)]0 -

Though I will admit that the site I mod on just performed an upgrade of the format and that if the admin and mod settings and controls are set a certain way things are okay - if not its much less viable

If I might humbly suggest - a few of you need to click on and open your profile page and sanitize any data posted there viewable to others that is critical of the auction side - the forums - admins - or mods
I think you have a very brief window to do that - between now and the format change if you want to redact or conceal that data
You know who you are - including one who is already on probation
I would be sad if you were unable to move forward with the rest of us

It's the easiest thing you can do to confirm your account info is still linked to an active email addy
The forum can send you an automated update alert message - my guess is that it's the same pathway the PM system should use
Now comes remembering your password - and how we help those who can't enter the new format without receiving emails or having the correct password
Many of our devices handle this for us
Hope that methodology makes sense to you and proves helpful to some - I also think that you can choose a new password or update your email in your profile page if you have lost that data to the fog of time
