plumbing toilet ??
Toilet started leaking from the tank. Turns out the plastic had deteriorated at the threads of the float. Bought a new one at lowes and installed it without a hitch.Problem now is when I flush the toilet the bowl barely fills. I am not sure how to adjust it. The water cuts off fairly quick after the tank fills cause the bowl isn't filling much. I've been holding down handle a tad till the bowl fills up.
I have no clue how to adjust the water in the bowl and youtube wasn't a help. Any ideas?

What brand and model fill valve did you install? 0 -
Your float is probably the culprit since that is what stops the filling of the tank. Have the top of the tank off and flush. When you pull up on the float you will see that it stops the water coming into the tank. Usually you have to bend the float tube some to get the water in the tank to get up to the fill line. If you are way off then you might need to return the valve since it might be bad, or you just bought the wrong one.. 0 -

Old style with brass rod means bending rod to get right water level.
New style with round float on column usually has a screw you adjust.
Watch it a few cycles and see if you can figure out what stops it from flowing and see if it has an adjustment you can find.

If you bought it at Lowes you probably got a Fluidmaster 400A. There's a retaining ring at the bottom of the shank inside the tank, slide the ring up an inch or so and then pull the float assembly up a couple inches and then slide the ring back down to lock the assembly in position. 0 -
Ive watched every video on youtube. My problem is no water in the bowl... not the tank. Itll flush fine, water barely fills the toilet bowl, then the tank fills and water shuts off. The toilet will have probably 10-12 ounces of water...

The instructions says the top of the float assembly should be 3" above the fill shaft. Which is how I have it setup. The 3" put me almost at the top of the tank. If I was to raise it much higher I couldn't get the lid back on..0 -
The "trickel tube" is the problem that small tube that goes into the overflow. Make sure water is comming out of that at a good rate when you flush and its goingdown the overflow. That tube is the water that fills the bowl. 0 -

BTW: This is my favorite type of toilet float,, much, much better than the old ball floats with arm.0 -
If the tank is filling sounds like it might be the flap closing early. Maybe it's not getting opened all the way. The trickle tube doesn't fill the bowl during flushing, it fills it after flush. Check your flush handle, chain, etc. 0 -

In the video the trickle tube is the small white tube that is clipped to the top of the overflow tube. This small tube is what is filling the stool bowl. You can (to test) pour water into this overflow tube and the water in the STOOL's bowl will fill up to the top of the stool's built in P trap and no higher. (will only get higher than the p trap if the drain is restricted)

I do have a trickle tube BUT this toilet doesn't have the normal tube that fills the bowl. It's a 4" tower that this toilet has to give it the capability to flush 12 golf balls. It doesn't have a flapper, The whole 4" tower pulls up to flush and it has a rubber gasket/seal that replaces the flapper.

Is it a 'Mansfeild' toilet?
Do you have a ballcock and float
or, did you put in a fluid master fill valve/float assly.?0 -
Does your tank have a flush valve like the right hand pic?
If so, call the maker for instructions on adjustments.0 -
