DMV slugs
State employees yuck pitoee .
Went to the DMV, due diligence reading up on the web site said I had to fill out a sold vehicle form and a surrender license form. Stood in line so the beech who called me up says just give me the plate and you are good to go??! WTH why did the web site say I had to fill these two papers out? "It's your choice" LOL Wow than why not have a slot to toss them in and not make me wait in the stupid line!
They need to privatize the DMV and get rid of the sloths. Another useless Government agency

In Idaho, you own that license plate and take it off and keep it.
And a trip to DMV is pleasant and wait time is less than 3 minutes.0 -

WTH ~ never heard of having to turn in the vehicle license plates when a car is sold. Didn't you purchase them initially ...then YOU OWN THEM!
Here when you sell a vehicle, you keep the plates and put them on your replacement vehicle.....just need to register the replacement vehicle in your name within a certain time period.
Easy peasy.

In PA if you sell the vehicle and don't put the plate on another vehicle your insurance company can and will notify PennDOT and your drivers license will be suspended.0 -
I always do it by computer..... the place is full of bad attitudes and
there is enough lard sitting around behind the counters in the DMV office to fry a boxcar full of potatoes.0 -

The first is true in NM, but the second can take an hour. The NM DMV website is confusing too, looks like some things can only be done on-line, but it is always better to go to the nearest office. Now the closest is pretty good.0 -
