Declare emergency for gun control
There are stories on both Drudge and Breitbart claiming Nancy Pelosi saying the next DEMOCRAT POTUS could declare a state of emergency for gun control.

That's the problem when a precedent is set.
Like the Democrats using the "nuclear option".
It is now perfectly acceptable and the repubs can use it at will.
Whether DJT does, or doesn't use the tactic, doesn't mean our next president (likely a democrat) won't use it for gun confiscation, global warming, abolishing private health ins, or any of the many socialist causes.
I believe our personal freedoms and our national sovereignty are dying the death of 1000 cuts.
We may win the occasional battle, but we'll not win the war.[V]0 -
I think that would be the most disastrous thing if a President called a state of emergency invoking gun control...
I think it would start a war against liberal aggression...
But I hate to say there will come a day that's all guns will be banned. But the piece of poop liberals are going to have to take away our rights one at a time for us to get used to it. If they try to do it all at once, well let's just say the poop will hit the fan. And I think they know that0 -

If a President declare a National Emergency on private firearm ownership, it will be martial law and a suspension of the Bill of Rights. There will be a protest not seen here since the Boston Tea Party. They have no idea what they are up against.

What precedent is being set????? This law, enacted in 1976, has been used 56 times of which 30-31 are still in effect. Between Clinton, Bush, and Oblabber it was used 42 times. So Pelosi can just chew her cud and pound sand. 0 -

Common sense, for what's it's worth, says you can't change the constitution by executive order, let alone laws passed by congress.
Just more FUD spread by the Dims, they've been doing this for two years in an attempt to "split off" factions of Trumps base. Hope it's not working.
Invasion = executive order to prevent if congress does not act. If the Dims stop it through legal action the Dims just took responsibility for the consequences of their action and will pay dearly. Or does NO ONE intend to vote?0 -

You seem to forget it has been used 70 times in the past starting with the Peanut Farmer. Anything out of the mouth of Pelosi is a lie.
Obummer used it liberally (pun intended) and yet there was no crying then.

The other declared states of emergencies may have been OK with congress but it is total BS they rose to the level of an actual emergency and certainly not anything near as the affect illegal immigration has on the citizens, the economy and the general well being of the United States.
This declaration is by far closer to an actual emergency than any such declaration since the one Bush declared following 911.
If this is wrong than all the others were an abuse of power
Declaring an emergency to divert funds to build a wall and prevent the crisis on the border is not a violation of constitutional rights of American citizens
Declaring an emergency and confiscating the firearms of lawful Americans is a violation of the constitution.
Many states would immediately file briefs declaring their right to succeed from the union being the right to bear arms was a condition for becoming a part of the union.
Such a move against the 2A would create a crisis the likes we have not seen since 1861.
Me thinks some dem-wits have forgotten the results of 1994 on their party and such a declaration would be a swift reminder0 -
This fall they will get gun control. Dems will attach it to the next funding bill due in Sept 2019. The Republicans and Trump blinked, they are terrified of another government shutdown, so Nancy will just do the same thing she just did. 0 -
