Smith Guru's
Gentlemen:
I"m seeing several model 66-2 revolvers on the auction side that do not appear to have pinned barrel's and recessed cylinders in the pics provided.
I thought all dash 2 and earlier smith revolvers were pinned and recessed? Is this not true of the model 66?
I grabbed mine to double check and mine is a dash one and it is pinned with recessed cylinders.
thanks in advance.

My 66-2 is not pinned or recessed. 0 -
yup, did an internet search and the changeover on the model 66 is from the dash one to the dash two, as opposed to the model 29 which all dash 2 are supposed to be pinned and recessed.
it says you can have a dash 2 with a recessed cylinder or a pinned barrel if it was built early in the run, but to be sure you have to go to dash one.
anyway, thank you!0 -

66 no dash is pinned with recessed cylinder.
Just bought one, just like the one I used to carry for 20 years.0 -
For the model 66 the -2 is the engineering change which was non pinned and no recessed chambers. The - number is different on the models for example on the model 19 the -5 is the engineering change for non lined and non recessed chamber 0
