It's a good thing that you have a generator. Just make sure you isolate your heater and other essential outlets that you plan on running with the generator from the main power line. Otherwise the experience could be electrifying for you

We used to have power outages all the time when we lived in Jasper, TN back in the 90s. I finally bought a generator and after that the power only went out one more time before we moved and then for only an hour.

I finally got around to cranking the old generator up last summer after it had sat unused for over 20 years. I flushed the tank out and put new gas in it and much to my surprise it cranked up on about the 5th crank.

It's a Coleman generator and you can hear it running in the next county. If I needed to use it the neighbors from a mile around would probably be outside my house protesting with pitchforks and torches.

If you used it in a power outage, they would be breaking down your doors try to get inside and get warm

just had to break out the generator that was bought in preparation of y2k along with the old dinosaur phone
called the electric company and was told it is a very major outageand probably would be back on tomorrow night at 2200 hrs

    I wish you well Brother.

My last power outage was when the temps were in the single to 0 temps.
(-5* that night.) I was warm with my Wood stove and Kerosene heater, I was, however very concerned about my pipes freezing.

Power was out about 6-8 hours.

    I wish you the best,
