Auto guys
I'm at my wits end.
My son's 2015 Nissan Sentra hasn't any tail lights. It has brake and hazard. Actually no lights to the trunk lid, that's where tail and license plate light are. Everything is LED.
Can't find any broken wires from fuse box (fuses are good).
Not quite ready to take to a dealer (money, money, show me the money[xx(].
Any suggestions appreciated.

Buy an electrical probe continuity tester. A good one can be had for around a hundred to $150. Although you can buy cheaper ones for about $30, but like with anything else you pay for what you get.
The one I have is called the Power probe 4, if you're going to work on 12 volt electrical systems, you be a fool not have one
And I've never asked, but maybe places like AutoZone or O'Reilly's have them for rent0 -
have you checked the bulb? 0 -
If only the trunk lid is dark, look at the connector by the hinge.
Check for 12 volts there, if yes, check for a bad ground to the lid.
If no power to the dissconnect plug work backwards to the body connector.0 -
Do you have dash lights, and does the dash dimmer work? Do you have front parking lights? If NO to all, it's the headlight switch or the relay. To add to what babun said, if the trunk has had a water leak, the connector in there will corrode too. That can trip the relay. 0 -

some cars have more than 1 fuse box. check your owners manual. 0 -
A good indie shop or dealer are about your only choice.
I don't work on Nissans but I would guess it has a light control module that is acting up. Late model cars are almost impossible to work on without the correct diagnostic equipment.
Only other thought is a damaged wire near the trunk hinge.0 -
Unplug connection at tail light and test it. 0 -
A lot of electrical things are circuit board and computer driven. Have auto Zone do a free scan for ya. Wiring is just one part of a complex system in newer autos. 0
