Yes, your local troop maybe doing all the wonderful things that you did as a girl and recognizes as being the hallmark of the Girl Scouts. Yes, the Girl Scout leader in your neighborhood may be dedicated to teaching, training and creating amazing experiences for young girls. But please understand when you buy some of those yummy Girl Scout cookies you are also supporting a specific agenda that might not be to your liking.
I'll add" especially if you live in a large heavily populated area.
Right now that agenda includes forcing all the little girls (and their parents) in a Girl Scout unit in Colorado to participate in fiction. They must all pretend that seven-year-old Bobby is a girl. And saddest of all, they must all pretend that this is actually helping Bobby.

Years ago we had a poodle named BARK. He was a barker. One day the doorbell rings and I peek out of the peep hole and see a little Irish girl in her green outfit and cap holding a bunch of boxes of cookies. I open the door and Bark runs between my legs and starts barking wildly. I start yelling at him calling him Bark. The little Irish girl must have thought I was telling him to bark at her. Before the cookies hit the ground, she was at the curb climbing into a waiting car and with tires screaching, she was gone. I left the cookies lying on the porch thinking she may be back. A few few minutes later BARK was sniffing around the door. I peeked out the peep hole and saw older Irish woman picking up the boxes of cookies while constantly looking around.

I've never heard of the online dealio, after reading the FAQ, it looks like they can be shipped nationwide, great, I'll be helping Shilo out here pretty soon, tell her thanks.

Idaho, I've already ordered 20 boxes from acquaintances children. I will give away most of them and bring a couple of boxes home for my kid. I wish your daughter the best, but my cookie budget has done been ate. 0 -

While I agree that Idaho has his daughter's best interest in mind, there's no denying that supporting GS's cookie sales are supporting GS's agenda. While her selling a boatload of cookies may get her a badge / sticker / whatever recognition, it also helps fill the coffers of an organization that leans and evangelizes left.
One might say "oh, look, a cute little girl selling cookies. Let's support her and buy some." Others might realize that it's really "let's buy some cookies so that a left leaning organization will have more funds that they can use to lobby politicians for left leaning policies."
And before the flaming begins - I'll PayPal Jared $5 if he'll donate it to the guard if he'd like. Not to buy cookies and give them, just a cash donation...0 -

Wife was a Girl Scout leader for many many years, she helped a lot of girls who needed a role model. Regardless of some of the larger organizations potential agenda she focused on the girls and I commend any man or woman who gives their time to further the mentoring and growth of our youth. Especially when their own children have moved on or were never part of the decision to volunteer. 0 -

Great news. We don?t get ours until March. Thank you all again for the support. I know that you might not argree with what the GS support but these funds are all kept local. My wife is a volunteer leader and she is trying hard to help guide these young girls.0
