I bought the 94 new in the early 1970's. The 9422 magnum came sometime later.

And a couple more: The model 670's are apparently not in the same number range as the post '63 model 70's:

  Your 9422M (22 magnum) was manufactured in 1974.
  
  You probably need to call Winchester about your late-model 94. 1-800-333-3288

  Your Model 94 was manufactured in they year 1969 (which fits perfectly with when you bought it).
  
  The Model 670 was introduced in 1966, and in 1968 the Gun Control Act (GCA) was enacted which caused Winchester to add the "G" prefix to the serial numbers on the Model 70 and 670. Serial number 109116 was manufactured in late 1966, and G138892 was manufactured in 1968.
