All of the stones in all of the ponds are occupied by turtles basking in the warm sunshine under the clear Carolina blue sky. 78 degrees forecast for Wilmington, N.C. Today. [:)]

I woke up to 2 degrees and clear blue skies. My turtle done pulled all the way back up in his shell!![:D] 0 -
Calling for 80 here just south of you. Enjoying it sort of but would rather be out golfing, fishing, shooting, mowing grass, poking myself in the eye, anything except being here at work.

Its nice here in GA too about 75. I took my 88 y/O Dad who has Dementia, bad, out today.
We both got a haircut and there was Mexican food joint next door. I said Dad lets go get some mexican food and drink beer sitting on the porch in the sun.
Well we both got Chili Relleno rice and beans and a Margarita. I got him a small one and I got a med. Well we polished them off and he wanted a beer so I got us 2 Modelos....
Well he hasn't had a drink in 2 years and let me tell you I almost couldn't get him to his room[:D] He was hammered.
We both had a good time he really enjoyed it. He asked me what month it was and I said what month do you think it is, he says April.
I told him nope Dad its Feb, Right there on the porch of the joint he goes, Oh Bullchit son its too nice to be Feb. He says it loud too, half the people out there started cracking up.
But what really cracked me up was he said he wanted to start smoking cigarettes again.

I may just go get him a pack they ain't going to kill him.0 -

Turtles are required to have a shaded area above every rock to avoid violation of federal law under the endangered species act. When push comes to shove the Turtles won't be responsible for payment. 0 -

Glad to hear you're making quality memories with your dad Sam!
Your story brought back some buried thoughts from the last few months spent with my father in law!
He had been a smoker for the better part of his life but quit about 10 years before he got dementia. One of the signs I noticed about his memory issues early on was he started smoking again.
He went from Winston's to those cheap little mini cigars that are packaged like cigarettes. Told me that he would never pay the kings ransom of 50 bucks a carton for smokes! Even with the awful curse of that dreadful disease, he remained frugal until the end![^]0
