Meatballs Marinara -
Roughly 20 browned meat balls, in a quart of Progresso garlic/basil/herb sauce. 3-4 tablespoons of Extra Virgin Olive Oil, 2 med/large diced onions, 3 cloves fresh fine diced garlic, a handful of fresh diced Basil, salt/pepper, Oregano, a few shots of Orange label Tabasco, just because.
Bubbling away on High in the crock pot. Turned to Low in a couple hours. Turned to Warm, overnight and during the day, while at work tomorrow. Served over Dakota Growers no. #1 Hard Amber Duram Wheat Spaghetti noodles, with more Extra Virgin Olive Oil and a copious amount of fresh grated Parmesian.

Sounds good, but cooking, even on low/warm for 36 hours? Wouldn't that dry them out? 0 -
Crock pot cooking does not dry anything out. If anything, it adds more moisture to the ingredients. Fresh veggies, helps the overall venture.
Low and slow, is the way to do it.
Big fan of Crock Pot cooking. Been at it for many years. The best way to do it, IMHO.
My Son and I were communicating yesterday, (he is in CO. just now.) He told me he misses my Crock Pot Pot Roast more than anything. Potatoes, carrots, onions, garlic, a pkg. of Lipton Onion Soup, beef stock over a Chuck Roast. Slow cooked in the Crock Pot. Longer the better.0 -

Guarantee you can dry out a pork loin roast if it's in there too long.. 0 -

In a Crock Pot? Any juice/BBQ Sauce added? Any liquid added tends to make more liquid, via condensation in my experience. Cooking it too high will do it also.
Low and Slow.0 -
Loving the meatballs...
Marinara not necessary.0 -

Low and Slow.
Put one in a few weeks back that was about 3 pounds. Set it on low for 7 hours then it went to warm for the other 5 hours that I was at work. Put 2 cans of chicken broth in with it and it was dry as heck when I got home 12 hours later....0 -
Added some fine diced celery, also a large fine diced Carrot. I love High concentration of Veggies in Spaghetti sauce. Wish I had a green pepper, and some Zucchini.
I usually buy Chunky Garden Style Sauce. The more Veggies the better.0 -

Wow. Never heard of anything drying out, in a Crock Pot. That (IMHO) makes them the ultimate Low and Slow cooker.
I will admit, I like my meat cooked thoroughly, and somewhat on the dry side.0 -
Don't remember cooking anything in a crock on HI or why? Never in a hurry.
Crock pots getting "dry" is because you didn't have the right recipe (water/liquid) or you left it on high for way toooo long.
Crock Pot and BBQ, that's what I do and all I do.0 -

I usually only start my dishes on High, to get it to the point of boil, after it reaches boil, it gets turned down.
Try a Chuck Roast/Pot Roast Crock Pot recipe, as I have laid out above. The absolute best.0 -
