I moved this to GD to give your rifle a wider exposure.

I lucked out on this one. The old boy (or old to me at the time) that had it needed some cash. I don't know a lot about early Mdl 70 now, but knew even less then. But he needed some money and others didn't want to meet his price. I liked the guy and knew he wouldn't be selling one of his guns if he didn't have to, so I met his price.
When I went to pick it up, he asked if I wanted this one or the 7X57, it looked about the same era. I took the 250-3000 because I has a 99 in the same caliber. Hope I chose the right one.

Wow. 6147 says it all. If you mail that use Registered. That way it's whereabouts are accounted for all the way. I mean there's a signature when it leaves one place and another when it shows up somewhere. Just like if you were mailing gold. That gun looks just like it should condition-wise. That plus being in fantastic condition for 72 yrs old. I'll bet that gun has some stories. I wonder how many deer it laid down.

The one I have in .250-3000 is a 1946. It's a great shooter but at almost 10# with a Balvar 8, it's a bit heavy for a light cartridge. Good luck with your sale.
