I was out in -29 for the better part of yesterday. I am still cold. 0 -
Baker city Oregon here. Normally it is about -10 here every morning in January and about +20 in the day time. In 62 it was -39 in December in town and -45 out of town a ways. This year it is paradise. About +20 at night and about +40 in the daytime. I love this global warming except for one thing. Every winter all the low life transients left town. now they stay here and steel stuff. We never use to have any theft here before. Now the creeps from Portland are coming here. 0 -

like to have another little utility tractor with cab/heat/air but the price has shot up the last few years....really screwed up when i missed a used Montana 30 hp c/a/h with 250 hours on it like new for $19K three years ago ...now the tier 4 engines with the exhaust garbage on em has shot the price up
I'm going to have a "mortgage" burning party in another year and a half when my Kubota tractor is finally paid off!![:D]
It cost a lot but I would not survive the winter in this place without it![^]0 -
about 8 degrees here today...does not feel too bad. Still just in a hooded sweatshirt when I go out unless for an extended period. Supposed to be 58 middle of next week...must be the global warming coming back[:D] 0 -
Speaking of the cold. When I was a youngster I spent a year and a half working in cold storage facility at a dairy. The old original freezer at the dairy kept the ice cream at about -10 and the blowers didn't blow directly on you. I spent up to 5 hours in there before without coming out to warm up. I would keep an extra set of insulated boots outside in order to have warm dry boots to put on when I came out to warm up.
When they built a new larger freezer they kept the temperature between -20 to -25 below zero and the blowers blew directly on you like a hurricane. 2 hours was the longest I was able to stay in without coming out to warm up. You could spit and it would freeze before it hit the floor it was so cold. The conveyor belts would freeze over night and you'd have to pour antifreeze on them to get them unstuck in the morning. If you left a can of antifreeze sitting in there it would get as thick as molasses.
I saw a lot of people come and go during that year and a half I worked there. It was very uncomfortable and especially hard for the older guys. It would be 100 degrees outside a lot of times in the summer and going from that to instantly -25 below zero was a shock to your system.0 -
The way they were talking about it yesterday on NPR or was it BBC they made it sound like it was like the movie "The Day After Tomorrow". 0 -
We're in the middle of a heat wave! It's 0? this morning! Tomorrow it's supposed to be 30? ABOVE 0?! 66? warmer than 2 days ago and still isn't above the freezing mark. 0 -

We are on our way out of many days at near -30 and -50 or so. It is about 4 above hear now and we are suppose to get into above freezing temps for tomorrow and a couple days after before heading back down to sub zero weather again.

I have been waiting for that state to do America a favor and slide off into the ocean. I would at least like to see them hit -30 degrees for a week like we just came through just for a good laugh. (then fall into the ocean)0 -
