why don't GB seller offer free shipping? I know when I shop on line, "free shipping" gets my attention. they could just figure in the cost?
just a thought.

    There are a few that do. I usually put free shipping with an inflated BIN price. With an auction item, as compared to a fixed price item, a seller could loose more than they want to if the item didn't do as good as they'd hoped on the sale. From my experience, "free shipping" ain't free....[;)]

    I did a lot of selling on that ebbbby site.
    Free shipping out sold similar items by 3 to 1.
    But we offered free shipping depending on profit margins of the item.
    If we got a item for $5.00 and I know it would sell for $25, free
    shipping was a gimme.[;)]
    You have to know shipping rates and box sizes to offer F.S. so you don't get hurt.

    The biggest cop out is "buyer pays actual shipping"! Such a hidden cost should not be allowed on ANY auction or sales website. It's not that hard to figure out, folks!
    Also, IF I message a seller asking for shipping cost, a simple reply would be appropriate, because I ain't buying until know the bottom line.

    Very true!!
    Heck he could send it next day/confirmed del/over insured/airmail/haz mat ect.ect.

    I just did a quick looksee...A 5# box the size of a shoebox costs from
    $14.00 to $57.00.
    You still want to pay actual shipping??

    Thus far I have never been cheated on one by a GB seller. Actual prices have always been reasonable, and I do enough to know.

    i too look closely at shipping. i will look at like items from different sellers and try to figure what reasonable shipping cost is to me. recently was trying to buy a small brass fitting for my tractor, found one, the price was high (10.49) decided to buy anyway until i got to shipping, $17.85. went to my shop and made one from locally available parts. some sellers take advantage of shipping cost some do not, but a lot of the time that is my break point on weather i buy or not.

    when I say actual shipping. it is the cost of the packaged item to be processed through the usps system first class with insurance
    no box, tape or bubble wrap fee

    I charge $30.00 for a handgun and $40.00 for a rifle and while I haven?t done the math in a while I?m pretty sure I lose money on shipping. And that?s not counting my time just materials and shipping fees.
