I bought Flitz and some brass steel wool for my stainless steel Ruger 10-22 that i bought that had some rust spots. No pitting just spotted in places.
I ran across this while i was looking for brass steal wool and Flitz.
I was wondering if anyone has tried this.

Dave, I have had great success using my Dremel tool with a fiber (wool??) polishing wheel dipped in very fine rubbing compound.
I do not know what those little round wheels are made of but some kind of thick wooly substance that shrinks in a hurry as you buff out the rough spots on metal. They are good for polishing stuff as well!0
