I can ~(.)-(.)~ again

A friend bought me a birthday present and it isn?t even my birthday.
It works well considering my age.
My eyes are pretty good but I do have some cataracts.
But for 14.00 what the hell
Don?t know if they will work this well for everyone.

Side note: on these one power reader glasses
I like these glasses and was thinking of buying another pair.
I have prescription glasses 400.00 and 1.00 store glasses and some other cheap glasses.
But these china power glasses seem to work the best
BUT: there is a warning on the box
THIS PRODUCT CAN EXPOSE YOU TO NICKEL
I hate appointments:
Hair cuts
Taxes
Car
Doctors
Dentist
Any type of reservations
Etc.
With these Unisex power glasses made in China there is very little of the above
You go to a store where they sell China and other as seen on TV stuff with out an appointment, open the box and try them on.
Then you go stand in line, I hate standing in line and you pay 14.99
What do you think about this warning label?

Adjustable diopter? Howinhell does that work? 0 -
Handled a lot of mercury "shining silver coins" when I was a kid. Good thing nickel dust wasn't good for anything or I'd be dead. [xx(] 0 -
They get cheaper by the dozen.

???? Doesn't make sense to me.
From their add:
"One Power? Readers work for anyone who needs magnification from .5X through 2.5X, so you don?t have to spend agonizing time in front of a mirror at the store figuring out if 1X or 1.5X is sharper for you. "
Seems to be a very limited "adjustment" range, to be calling them
one size fits all.0 -

No, nothing to adjust
Seems to be in the lens
When I?m driving I look ahead or at the speedometer it?s clear
Must be some type of bifocal lines in the lens.
With these new glasses
I was thinking of going to the Nationals and start shooting again
And going over yonder to that countless invitational under water match event
Hell nickel, at my age I could out live it.
I have more important responsibility?s than shooting but still need these glasses.0 -
Ahhh...progressive diopter. I see. (pun intentional)
I assume then that as you tilt your head, the diopter changes. So there's a narrow band of "just right" and things above and below that band are "out of focus." Right?0 -
I don't know, still in the experimental stage

there is a video that i missed

If you wear any clothing with metal buttons you're exposed to nickel. All stainless steel has nickel in it and stainless is everywhere. If you don't have a sensitivity to it now, you likely won't. 0 -
There are darn few customer reviews for these things, and most of them them are "Ordered but never received" complaints.
wallie, I'm still very interested to know how this "one power" thing is accomplished. Do the glasses have a progressive magnification from 0.5 at the top to 2.5 at the bottom - or what?0 -
I will hold off till more reviews.. eyes could go slant since they are made in china. Notice the warning..stay out of the direct sunlight.. 0 -

I don?t know anything about these glasses and the video is high tech to me
I just got back from a mall in Lancaster and bought another one
Sitting at a table with 5 seniors wearing prescription glasses we all took turns looking through this new 5 power eye glass
Out of 5, 2 seen a difference, 2 seen no difference and 1 seen all pretty girls.0 -
Well, that's no help. 0 -
I found a video review by a TV station that was quite negative. They had the glasses evaluated by an optical company, who said the One Power glasses were exactly that - a straight 2.5 diopter reading glass. No "new technology" in the lens to back up the seller's claims. 0 -
What I know about these glasses so far:
I have about 12 or more glasses of different powers and price laying around.
Every time I need a certain power I can?t find it.
Some time I can?t find any glasses and find 12 or so all in one place.
These new glasses work for ?ME?
It will adjust for distance and close.
How!! who the F cares
They are not for everyone with different eye problems.
They are not perfect
But they are good enough for me
